It was a drizzling Sunday morning of May 13, 2012. Yes, it's
time to Run/Walk for a good cause once again!
I signed up for the 5km Fun Run with friends but decided not to Run and
join the 3km walk on the day itself due to an injury in my left leg. It turned
out fun as we get to mingle with the kids of our colleagues. It is very
heart-warming to see mother's smiling/laughing while eventually carrying their
kids after reaching 1km, some less than that. (I can imagine how heavy the kids
were. But I guess as a mom, you wouldn't mind. What's important is to see your
child enjoying this very special day with you.:) )

It was announced that UOB was able to raise funds of $700,000 which was
donated to five local charities.
Mr Wee Ee Cheong, UOB Deputy Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer
said, " I am delighted that for the first time our team in China has
joined our South East Asia colleagues in holding this annual fund-raising event
to help the needy in our local communities. By holding it on Mother's Day this
year, we can also celebrate, as an extended family, this special woman in our
lives".

The Carnival is one of the highlights of the event. Children, together
with their Mom's all had fun playing. At the redemption booth, you'll see
children's happy faces, hugging their hard-earned new toys! (Sorry I failed to
take a photo because I, myself was too excited to get my prize. :)) There were
also photo booths for the families and to treat the mom's, they had free mani and pedi inside the Uob Plaza blg..

To sum it up, it was definitely a Funtastic and meaningful event, not
only to raise funds for disabled children's charity, but to also celebrate
Mother's Day in a totally different way!
